Day 1: Posadas / Colonia Carlos Pellegrini

Welcome to Posadas! Upon arrival, you will be met at Posadas Airport or Bus Station and be provided with a 4 to 5-hour private transfer to a local estancia (typical Argentine ranch), settled near the popular Iberá Marshlands area, where you will spend the next few days.**Please bring: trekking pants, shorts, trekking shoes, windbreaker jacket, warm jacket, hat, rubber boots or waterproof shoes, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, binoculars, flashlight, sunglasses, swimsuit and spare clothes for children.

Welcome to Aguapé Lodge: The perfect place for travellers who want to experience ecotourism, explore an off-the-beaten-path destination in Argentina and be truly in contact with nature and local fauna. This lodge is placed on the coasts of the Iberá Lagoon with an overwhelming view of the wetlands and the lagoon. It is the perfect base to explore the area and enjoy a typical gaucho (cowboy) environment. You will have the chance to try gourmet & regional cuisine, along with a variety of homemade delicacies. Depending on your flight arrival time, you will enjoy your coffee break and then have the afternoon free to explore the beautiful countryside. In the evening, dinner will be served. We suggest you watch the sunset on the wood pier!

Day 2: Iberá Marshlands area: A day of unearthing peace and nature
Stop At: Aguapé Lodge, Colonia Carlos Pellegrini, Corrientes, Argentina
Wake up at the animal’s paradise! You will have two excursions included for today, one in the morning, after breakfast and one in the afternoon, after a coffee break. Time to get in contact with nature! Some of the activities available at the estancia are: Boat trips to do flora and fauna sighting, trekking, horse riding, canoeing & kayak, tours in 4Wd vehicles in the Iberá Natural Reserve or outings for bird-watching and taking photographs. All activities are shared and each day’s activities are defined by the guide. The amazing Iberá Natural Reserve is home to some exotic species declared Provincial Natural Monument like the marsh deer, the aguará guazú and the Pampas deer. You can try to take a picture of them!

Day 3: Last day at Iberá Marshlands / Posadas

After breakfast, you will join the last programmed activity of your stay. Did you get a photo of that cute capybara? If not, you will have a second chance today. According to the day’s activities programming, you might take another boat tour or try something new: Horseback riding along the Iberá marshes and feel like a real argentine gaucho. Or even a more adventurous activity; canoeing along the wetlands or trekking around the Estancia! If you are lucky, maybe you will see caimans! Wildlife sightings, while you are at Iberá, will always be surprising and exciting! On your return, enjoy lunch before your departure to Posadas.
**Activities on the Estancia are included. The Outings Programming is organized exclusively by the Guide Coordinator, according to the season, weather conditions and the timetable set up in each area by the “Ibera Natural Reserve authorities”.

Say goodbye to the awe-inspiring sunrise of Iberá. At the appropriate time, you’ll have a 4 to 5-hour private transfer to Posadas to take your flight or bus. **NOTES: Our itinerary is pretty flexible, so if you want to add extra nights/tours to the itinerary, we can quote it for you. Just make sure to let us know in advance using the ‘Special Requirements’ box while booking. **The duration of tours and transfers are approximate. **Ask us for recommendations on what to bring depending on the season once you have booked!
