What to Expect When Visiting Mendoza, Cuyo, Argentina

Day 1: Mendoza

Pass By: Aeropuerto Internacional El Plumerillo (MDZ), Acceso A Aeropuerto Internacional Gabrielli F. J., Las Heras, Mendoza, Argentina
Upon arrival to Mendoza airport, you will have a private transfer to your hotel.

Stop At: Mendoza, Mendoza, Province of Mendoza, Cuyo
Welcome to Mendoza! Argentina’s main wine region and heartland of Malbec grape! Mendoza is also well-known for its world renowned mountains such as the Aconcagua (the highest mountain in the Americas), its outdoor activities and its breathtaking landscapes. After check-in, you’ll have the rest of the day free to enjoy as you wish.

Day 2: Mendoza – Cooking class at a winery with lunch

Stop At: Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza Province, Argentina
Today, you will be picked up at your hotel (private service) to take part in a great cooking class at one of the best wineries of the region. Your friendly and knowledgeable chef will be the one to show you the different gastronomical techniques that are used in Mendoza and will also introduce the local ingredients that will be used to prepare your meal. For about 2 to 3 hours, you will learn about the genuine Argentine cuisine while cooking. On this tour, you will also learn about wine and food pairing as you taste some incredible Malbecs. By the end of the class, you will enjoy a great lunch made with all that we have cooked!

Day 3: Mendoza – Full-Day Visit to 3 wineries of Uco Valley with lunch

Stop At: Valle de Uco, Rivadavia, Mendoza, Argentina
After breakfast, depart on a small-group guided tour to Uco Valley, located about 100 km or 62 miles away from the city of Mendoza. Uco Valley, is considered to be the “new” wine region of Mendoza. A combination of high altitude lands (900 to 1300 masl), alluvial soils, low rains (more than 250 sunny days per year) and wide thermal amplitude, make grape growing the most important activity of the region. Led by insider guides, you will visit three world-class vineyards and wineries. Upon arrival to each winery, you will walk around their facilities and will learn about their different winemaking methods. You will also learn the secrets of this particular “terroir” and its influence in the production of unique wine. After each visit, you will taste some of their featured wines. Before finalizing your tour, you will also enjoy a gourmet lunch paired with the best wines of the region. After that, you will be taken back to your hotel.

Day 4: Mendoza / Santiago De Chile

Pass By: Mendoza Bus Terminal, ALBERDI S/N, M5519 Guaymallén, Mendoza, Argentina
At the appropriate time, you will have a private transfer to Mendoza bus station where you will board your bus to Santiago. Please remember to keep your passport handy since you will be crossing an international border.

Pass By: Estacion Bus Chile, Av Libertador Bernardo O’Higgins 3614-3830, Santiago, Estación Central, Región Metropolitana, Chile
After an 8-hour panoramic bus ride through the Andes range you will reach the city of Santiago de Chile. Upon arrival at the bus station, you will have a private transfer to your hotel.

Welcome to Santiago! Home of Pisco Sour, variety of seafood and marvellous Cabernet Sauvignon. Santiago is the perfect base to explore Chile – the country of the extremes – or just enjoy a few days between the mountains and the ocean. After check-in, the rest of the day will be yours to relax and enjoy the first glances of this beautiful city.

Day 5: Santiago De Chile – Full-Day City Tour of Santiago with visit to food markets

Stop At: Vega Central Santiago, Dávila Baeza 700, Recoleta, Región Metropolitana, Chile
After breakfast, you will meet with your private guide at your hotel and will be transferred to “Vega Central” market, located in the downtown area. There, you will find all kinds of fruits, vegetables, cheeses, and spices brought from the agricultural areas of the center of Chile. While walking through the “little Vega”, you will find different kinds of meats, some “cocinerias” (local small restaurants) and more shops that offer variety of spices. You will then wander through “Tirso de Molina” market, where you will be able to taste delicious fresh fruit juice prepared on spot.

Pass By: Central Market (Mercado Central), Ismael Valdes Vergara 900, Santiago 8320009 Chile
Afterwards, you will head out to the “Central Market”, which was declared national historic monument and where all kinds of fish and seafood from the Pacific Ocean are sold. Throughout the tour, we will talk with different shop employees to learn about the local products and their uses in the typical Chilean cuisine. At the market, you will also get to taste some “Pisco Sour” (Chile’s national drink) accompanied by delicious “Machas a la parmesana” (a kind of seafood with cheese). After that, you will explore the main attractions of Santiago city. Some of the featured sites you will visit are as follows:

Pass By: Santiago Metropolitan Cathedral, Pl. de Armas, Santiago, Región Metropolitana, Chile
You will walk through “Plaza de Armas”, the main square, surrounded by the Metropolitan Cathedral, the palace of the Royal High Court, the Main Post Office and other buildings of historical interest.

Pass By: Centro Cultural Palacio de la Moneda y Plaza de la Ciudadania, Plaza de la Ciudadania No. 26, Santiago 8320000 Chile
You will then visit the Constitution Square and the palace of “La Moneda”, the current seat of the
government.

Pass By: Santa Lucía Hill, Santiago, Santiago Metropolitan Region, Chile
Santa Lucia Hill: where the Spanish conqueror Pedro de Valdivia founded the city of Santiago.

Pass By: Cerro San Cristobal, Pio Nono 445, Recoleta Parque Metropolitano de Santiago, Santiago 8320000 Chile
You will also visit San Cristobal hill, where you will access different lookout points that showcase the city. At the end of the tour, you will be taken back to your hotel.

Day 6: Santiago De Chile – Full-Day Tour to 2 wineries of Maipo Valley

Stop At: Maipo Valley, Maipo Valley, Santiago Metropolitan Region
After breakfast, you will meet with your Spanish-speaking driver at your hotel and will be transferred to Maipo Valley region, where some of the country’s top wines are produced (shared service).

Pass By: Vina Undurraga, Camino a Melipilla, Km 34, Talagante Chile
Upon arrival to Undurraga winery, your tour will begin with a walk through the Undurraga family’s park, as well as the “Aliwen” site, where high wooden figures of the Mapuche culture are exhibited. You will then continue visiting the vineyards, passing by the modern winemaking plant and the ancient underground cellars located in Santa Ana de Talagante. Afterwards, you will be able to taste some of their prestigious wines before heading out to Concha y Toro winery.

Upon arrival to the main house, you will take a walk through the old park, from where you can admire the outside of the house, the former summer residence of the Concha y Toro family. Afterwards, you will visit their wine cellars, where you will learn about the famous legend that made the Chilean wine world famous. During the visit, you will also get to taste different Concha y Toro wines. At the end of the tour, you will be taken back to your hotel. Note: we may visit different wineries if the ones mentioned are not available.

Day 7: Santiago De Chile

Stop At: Airport Comodoro Arturo Merino Benitez, Aeropuerto SCL, Pudahuel, Región Metropolitana, Chile
