Stop At: Museo Historico Nacional, Defensa 1600, Buenos Aires C1143AAH Argentina
Our tour will start at the National Historical Museum talking about the colonial origins of the city and the relationship between this new colony and slavery and slave trading.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Parque Lezama, Av Brasil & Paseo Colon, Buenos Aires Argentina
The visit will continue in the park located alongside the museum: Parque Lezama. The focus on this tour is telling you about the origins of the African population in the Rio de la Plata region explaining the slave trade in what today is Argentina.

Stop At: Pulperia Quilapan, Calle Defensa 1344, Buenos Aires C1143AAD Argentina
Pulperia Quilapan is a historical building. Owed today by a French couple. Restored and reopened as a restaurant, “almacén de ramos generales” and dance saloon. But this colonial house (built around 1860) has a wide history behind as it was a place d where enslaved people used to work.
And we will make a stop, have a drink and talk about Africa before colonization, as well as the daily lives of the people who worked in the house.

We will continue our tour by walking to one of San Telmo main squares. This is the spot where the most famous antiques market takes place every Sunday.
Stop At: Parroquia de San Pedro Gonzalez Telmo, Humberto Primero 340, Buenos Aires Argentina
One of the oldest in the city. Work began in 1735 and under the expulsion of the jesuits, the Bethlemite religious order continued the work. Also has a museum with pieces dating back over 200 years.

Stop At: Galeria del Viejo Hotel, Balcarce 1053, Buenos Aires Argentina
Learn about the process of European immigration that symbolically erased the African heritage from our country. Here you’ll discover the African roots of many popular cultural assets of Argentina, like tango, asado or even our Lunfardo slang.

Stop At: Casa Minima, Pasaje San Lorenzo, 380, Buenos Aires 1065 Argentina
Finally, we will see the smallest house in the city of Buenos Aires andl learn about the path to freedom and the organization of the Afro-Argentines after the end of slavery.
