What makes The Buenos Aires Pizza Tour a unique experience ?

This is our first of several pizza stops. We visit only the classics that gave fame to Argentina’s pizza reputation. At each place, we try different varieties, focusing on each location’s specialty. Here we start things off with a spinach and white bechamel sauce pizza.

Our second location has another great classic porteño pizza. Here we are going to try a combination of mozzarella pizza with faina. Here is where the Italian influence shines. Faina is an Italian flatbread made with chickpea flour.

The Gran Rex theater in Buenos Aires was designed by Alberto Prebisch and completed in 1937. Alberto also designed the Obelisco. It is an example of the rationalist style, which is characterized by its simple lines and lack of ornamentation. The theater has a capacity of 3,262 spectators and hosts a variety of events, including film premieres, concerts, and award shows.

The theater’s name comes from the Latin word “rex,” meaning “king.”

The Gran Rex was the first theater in Argentina to have air conditioning.

Take a slice of history! As we walk by the iconic Obelisk, towering 220 ft (67 meters) over bustling avenues, you’ll be standing at the heart of Buenos Aires. Built in 1936 to celebrate the city’s 400th anniversary, it’s a landmark for celebrations, protests, and stunning photo ops. Don’t forget to snap a pic with this symbol of Buenos Aires before enjoying another delicious pizza stop!

Witness Argentina’s legal heart on our pizza tour!

In between restaurants, take a moment to admire the Palace of Justice, a monumental landmark towering over this beautiful plaza. Designed by French architect Norbert Maillart and opened in 1942, this neoclassical beauty houses the Supreme Court and embodies Argentina’s legal system. Its imposing facade, with influences from both Greek and Roman styles, reflects themes of justice and power. Inside, a grand hall features a symbolic sculpture representing justice itself. This architectural gem stands as a testament to Argentina’s commitment to law and order.

Passing by a palace of music! While we savor a slice on our pizza tour, admire the Colón Theatre, a national treasure. Opened in 1908, it’s renowned for its horseshoe-shaped auditorium, exquisite acoustics, and opulent interiors. Witnessing its grandeur is like stepping into a bygone era of operatic masterpieces.

Dive into Buenos Aires’ beating heart on our pizza tour!

Walk alongside a slice of history on Avenida Corrientes, Buenos Aires’ vibrant “street that never sleeps.” Theaters, bookstores, pizzerias, and legendary cafes line this iconic avenue, offering a glimpse into the city’s rich cultural tapestry. Feel the tango’s pulse where Gardel once performed, then catch a rising star on a modern stage. Browse late-night bookstores or debate politics in historic cafes. Avenida Corrientes is a sensory feast, a kaleidoscope of sights, sounds, and flavors waiting to be explored. Join our pizza tour and experience the magic for yourself!

Dive into Buenos Aires’ pizza legend at Banchero!

Our pizza tour takes you to a slice of history at Banchero, a family-run gem since 1932. Founder Agustín Banchero, who arrived from Genoa, Italy, first opened a bakery in La Boca. In 1932, his son Juan took the reins and created a legend – Fugazza with cheese! This twist on the classic Italian Fugazza, traditionally bread with olive oil and onions, became the Fugazzeta we know today.

Step inside their second location, opened in 1967 (they even have a spot in Miami now!) and savor their signature Fugazzeta. Imagine a double-crusted masterpiece overflowing with mozzarella and caramelized onions – a flavor explosion in every bite! Banchero’s legacy lives on with their mouthwatering Fugazzeta. Join our tour and discover the secrets of Buenos Aires’ iconic pizzas!

Catch a glimpse of theatrical history on our pizza tour!

As you savor a slice on our Buenos Aires pizza tour, take a moment to admire the architectural gem, Teatro General San Martín. This grand theater, inaugurated in 1960, is a cultural hub dedicated to national and international plays. Its modern lines stand in contrast to the ornate facades of Buenos Aires, reflecting a shift towards contemporary theater. Inside, multiple stages host a diverse range of productions, from thought-provoking dramas to captivating comedies. The theater also boasts a vibrant lobby space, perfect for people-watching between bites of your pizza. Teatro General San Martín is a must-see for any theater enthusiast, offering a glimpse into Argentina’s rich theatrical scene.
