What makes Buenos Aires Graffiti Bike Tour: Street Art & Murals a unique experience ?
We’ll start this great tour with a brief introduction from the guide who will be accompanying the group throughout the tour. Listen to a quick safety briefing before receiving your bike (a comfortable beach cruiser) and helmet.
Begin with a cycle around San Telmo, one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods, known for its well-preserved colonial architecture. Observe life in the square’s cafes, bars and shops, and watch for spontaneous tango performances – San Telmo is the center of tango in Buenos Aires.
Next, ride into La Boca, Buenos Aires’ most colorful neighborhood, where a European atmosphere has remained strong since the neighborhood was settled by Italian immigrants. The district is popular with visitors for its brightly painted buildings.
Here we will have the opportunity to see one of the most beautiful murals in the Boca neighbourhood “San Diego del Barrio de la Boca”. On the walls of a building you will find the mural of the beloved Diego Armando Maradona, widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of the sport. The mural painted by Alfredo Segatori.
Continuing on our tour through the La Boca neighbourhood, we will observe the mural that honours the most important artist of our country: Benito Quinquela Martín. The mural called ” El Sueño de Quinquela” mixes all styles, figuration and recycling through the incorporation of waste materials. The work was also created by the artist Alfredo Segatori.
The mural “El regreso de Quinquela”, one of the largest in the world created by a single painter using freehand aerosol. Declared of Cultural Interest. The work presents a landscape that fuses four iconic paintings by Quinquela and on the other hand, the portrait of workers and neighbors who live in Barracas.
Throughout your tour, your entertaining and informative guide will regale you with fun facts about Buenos Aires’ rich history and provide commentary about the sites you’re passing. You’ll also break periodically to stretch your legs and take photos, ending your tour in San Telmo.
